Joseph (Joe) Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Protocare, Inc., joined the company after more than six years as Chairman and CEO of American Health Properties, Inc. This $1 billion New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust specializing in health care property investments was merged into Health Care Property Investors at the end of 1998. Prior to joining AHP, he was an investment banker with Goldman, Sachs & Co. for 20 years, serving a wide variety of corporate clients with a particular emphasis on health care, HMOs, biotechnology, medical services and medical device companies.

Mr. Sullivan currently serves as a member of the Board and the Executive Committee of the UCLA Medical System and heads its Information Technology Committee. He also serves as Chairman of the RAND Health Board of Advisors, the largest not-for-profit health care policy consulting firm in the world. His other directorships include Covenant Care, Inc., a private nursing home company, and SCCI Inc., a private long-term acute care hospital company. He is a former member of the Board of Governors for the National Association of REITs and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Mr. Sullivan holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a law degree and BS from the University of Minnesota.
